Sir,

I write to you on behalf of Penally Community Council regarding the continuous problem of speeding motorists on the village road.

Speed checks have been carried out by PCC and Dyfed Powys Police, with the evidence recorded. Solutions discussed by the community council have, amongst others, included traffic calming installations.

Such measures may alter the character of the village, with speed bumps or chicanes possibly affecting the 349 bus service, on which many depend.

Dyfed Powys Police have launched the Community Speed Watch (CSW) initiative which is a group of volunteers who, together with support from their local Neighbourhood Policing Team, monitor speeds of vehicles in their villages and towns. Vehicles exceeding the speed limit are then referred to the police.

We already have a keen group of Speed Watch volunteers in place throughout Penally, so please take your foot off the pedal, observe the speed restrictions and keep our village road safe for all.

County Clr. Jonathan

Preston,

On behalf of Penally

Community Council
