Kilgetty held a presentation on Sunday, May 4 for their Under 14s and Under 16s. A large gathering of players, family and friend were in attendance.
The evening was kicked off by the Under 14s manager, Bobby Bevan, who gave a speech congratulating his team for a great season, on winning their league and reaching the semi-finals of the cup. He also thanked Grant for all his help, and families for their support and help with transport.
He then called upon club chairman, Mr. Dai Griffiths, to present the season's trophies, starting with the League Cup ad individual trophies. This was followed by the club awards which were:
Leading goal scorer: Dan Colley; Most improved player: Paul Hodge; Sportsman: Robert Colley; Player of the year: Oliver Morgan; Players' player of the year: Dean Lawrence.
Next up was the Under 16s' manager, Paul Smith, who started by congratulating Bobby and the Under 14s team, and also the Kilgetty Seconds for gaining promotion to Reserve Division One.
He went on to thank the Under 16s for all the season's efforts and their attitude, which was always 100 per cent in what was a long and hard season.
For the players going on to senior football next year he wished them all the best and hoped that they would always enjoy their football, whether at Kilgetty or elsewhere.
At this point he called upon Mr. John Griffiths, president of the Tenby and Saundersfoot Lions, main sponsors of Kilgetty Under 16s, to present the seasonal awards which were as follows:
Player's player of the year: Ben Hughes; Player of the year: Adam Hughes; Prospect of the year: Ben Hughes.
The manager finished off by thanking Pat and Eric John for all their support, Andrew Cope for his assistance, Gary Hughes for his refereeing and finally his wife Terrene for putting up with him.
At this point team captain Ben Hughes and vice captain James Nicholas took the stage to present some surprise awards, firstly they presented Pat and Eric with flowers and wine, and finally to manager Paul Smith, a watch and wine.
This was followed by a buffet which was enjoyed by all.
