The evening's entertainment consists of three one-act plays. The first, 'A Little Stretching Never Hurt the Truth' written by David Owen, is about a chance encounter in a London park, interspersed with some light-hearted flashback moments in the life of the lead character, a drifter, dreamer and conman.
'The Appraisal', also by David Owen, recently won the 'Best Play' award at the Pembrokeshire 2001 One-Act Play Festival. Lloyd Ayris, winner of the best supporting actor award in that same festival, appears again in this production. 'The Appraisal', set somewhere in London after the final nuclear attack, has also gained 'Best Play' awards in Scotland and Germany.
The final play in each Tuesday's performance is an hilarious comedy by David Tristam called 'Last Tango in Penally'. It has gained 'Best Play' awards at several One Act Festivals in the British Isles, and tells the story of the trials and tribulations of a local amateur dramatics society faced with extinction.
Joyce Owen's photograph shows some of the cast members who will be performing in the Tuesday Comedy and Drama evenings. Tickets are £3.50 for adults and £2.50 for OAPs and youngsters, and include tea or coffee, biscuits and a programme. Tickets will be on sale at the Church House from 7 pm on the day of each performance, and the first play will start at 8 pm.
If you're looking for live theatre in Tenby this month, come to Church House, Upper Frog Street, on a Tuesday evening for some quality comedy and drama!
