A report into the Joint Unitary Development Plan for Pembrokeshire can now be viewed on the internet. It follows a public inquiry into objections to the JUDP, which was held between 27th January 27, 2004 and December 16, 2004. The planning inspector, John R. Collyer, has now presented his report to the two planning authorities for the county - Pembrokeshire County Council and the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority. His report can be viewed on the authorities' websites, at the offices of the County Council at County Hall, Haverfordwest, and at the offices of the National Park Authority at Llanion Park, Pembroke Dock. At this stage, the report is still a draft report as the regulations allow for a period when the authorities check the report for factual errors. The publication of the report does not provide an opportunity to challenge the inspector's conclusions or recommendations. The authorities are considering their response to his recommendations and the proposed modifications that will flow from this. A report was considered by Pembrokeshire County Council's Cabinet on Monday dealing with a Statement of Decisions (the authorities' response to his recommendations) and the proposed modifications. At the meeting, it was agreed to progress the JUDP to adoption in line with statutory procedures. Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority will consider the matter on December 14. Once agreed by the authorities, these documents will go 'on deposit' for public consultation in the New Year. It is envisaged that the authorities will proceed formally to adopt the Joint Unitary Development Plan by mid-2006.
