At the February meeting of the Pembrokeshire Prospectors Society, held at the Cricket Club, Haverfordwest, the winner of the club search competition was Josie Thomas with a papal bulla of Pope Martinus IIII, 1281 - 1285.
A papal bulla is a lead seal bearing the image of saints Peter and Paul and the name of the reigning pope, which is affixed to the parchment of a papal bull, the most solemn form of papal document such as the announcement of the canonisation of a saint or appointment of a new pope. This is only the third papal bulla found in the 25 years of the Pembrokeshire Prospectors Society.
The runner-up in the club search was a handcuff key which was stamped with the date 1839, a crown and the bust of Queen Victoria, found by Eddie Moore.

Coins pre 1649 - Henry III cut halfpenny 1216-1272 - Ted Owens; coins 1649 onwards - George III half crown 1760-1829 - Josie Thomas; ancient artefacts - 1st/2nd century umbonate type Roman brooch - Ken Lunn; modern finds - Victorian brooch - Ken Duffield; finds outside Pembrokeshire - 16th century 1 oz weight - Bernard Williams.
