MENTER Iaith Sir Benfro in a joint venture with Narberth Rugby Club are organising an evening of entertainment at the Narberth Rugby Club House on Saturday, January 10, to start at around 9 pm.

Playing there will be the Dhogie Band, a very popular group with regular gigs that play a variety of original songs and covers in both Welsh and English.

The evening will be sponsored by the Arts Council of Wales' Noson Allan/Night Out scheme, and is part of Menter Iaith Sir Benfro's 'Promoting Welsh Through Sport' project that is partly financed by the Welsh Language Board.

"A lot of our supporters are Welsh speakers and we are very happy in joining with the local Menter Iaith in this new venture" said Tony Jones, secretary of Narberth Rugby Club.

Tecwyn Ifan from Menter Iaith Sir Benfro added: "Hopefully this will be the first in a series of events that we will organise with the rugby club in Narberth. Similar evenings will also be arranged in future in partnership with both Fishguard and Crymych Rugby Clubs".

Tickets costing £3 (concessions £2) and further details can be obtained either from the Narberth Rugby Club (01834 860462) or one of Menter Iaith's offices at Crymych (01239 83119) or Fishguard (01348 873700).
