The Cancer Research UK shop in Tudor Square, Tenby, is currently hoping to fill vital vacancies in its volunteer team. Why not give just a few of your 'extra' hours and join the friendly volunteer team?

Just four hours a week, spread out over a year, is worth around £1,000 to the charity - this could pay for eight women to participate in an ovarian cancer screening trial.

Shop manager Emma Lewis said: "It would be great if we could expand the taskforce, as there is always so much to do. The shop has a very friendly, fun atmosphere, which is largely due to the existing volunteers. They're fantastic, we just need more of them! Just a few hours can make a huge difference."

There are a number of volunteer-based roles available, from being the friendly face on the till, through to sorting and preparing the generous donations that are received on a daily basis, and no previous experience is needed.

Volunteering is also a great way to gain retail and team-building experience, or to give a CV a boost, whatever your age or ability.

If you have as little as two to four hours per week and would be interested in volunteering, but not sure what to expect, call Emma on 01834 845451 and arrange a volunteer taster session. If you're shy, why not drag a friend along too!
