Narberth Town Council are demanding a personal meeting with one of the county council's chief officers.
They are requesting a meeting with Darren Thomas, Pembrokeshire County Council's head of highways and construction, to discuss refusal to place parking restrictions in Jesse Road.
As reported last month, members of the town council thought it was disgusting that a proposal to introduce a new section of double yellow lines on the southern side of Jesse Road had been withdrawn because of objections from two properties.
Town councillors felt not imposing the restriction was putting lives in danger as it was an area where an accident was waiting to happen.
In fact, one of the council's own members, Clr. Danny Duckfield, reported that whilst he was walking home one evening, vehicles were mounting the pavement in order to pass parked cars.
Town clerk, Mrs. Caroline Coaker, was asked to write a strongly worded letter to Mr. Thomas stating how the council felt and asking him to attend a meeting with members.
In a reply, read at Tuesday night's meeting, Mr. Thomas was 'surprised at the strength' of council's comment and said that the local authority had given a clear explanation of the reason behind the decision.
In a discussion, Clr. Mrs. Sue Rees said she was 'appalled' that Mr. Thomas would not attend to listen to what council had to say.
"Three people may have objected, but they haven't taken into account all the residents' views or what the town council thinks," she said.
Mayor, Clr. Colin Williams, proposed writing back to Mr. Thomas demanding he face the council to defend himself either in Narberth or at County Hall.
Council were also to ask County Clr. Wynne Evans, who had subsequently withdrawn his support, to attend as well. Members agreed.
The clerk was also asked to send a copy of the letter to Dr. Stephen Jones, the county's director of development.
