The Rector, Fr. Paul, led the morning Eucharist service in Jeffreyston Church on Sunday, the 18th after Trinity. The readings were: Proverbs 3.vv 13-18; 2. Corinthians 4.vv 1-6; The Gospel reading was Matthew 9.vv 9-13, where we read of the call of Matthew.

For his well delivered sermon, Fr. Paul discussed the calling by Jesus of Matthew to be an Apostle and Evangelist. He reviewed the readings and recommended us to obey the call of Jesus and follow him.

At the end of the service, Fr. Paul was proud to show the cleverly made banner done by the Sunday School. Paper cut-outs in the form of a large vine had been stuck on to the banner. A name of a prayer had been added at each leaf.

The closing prayer based on 'sharing' was clearly read out by Lorna.
