Do you still have Pembrokeshire County Council Library books at home after enjoying some extra reading during the Covid-19 pandemic?

A lot of people have taken the opportunity to bury their head in a good book over the last two years. But if you are holding on to overdue library books now is the time to return them, so other avid readers can enjoy them.

During the pandemic, Pembrokeshire Libraries have not been charging overdue fines but from today, April 1, 2022, the charges have been reinstated. Overdue books will be charged at 15p per book, per day for adult customers (10p per book, per day for concessions) up to a maximum of £5 per item. There is no overdue charge for Children’s books borrowed on a Child’s Library card.

To help customers with this transition, the library service will be extending the due date on all items that were due back between January 1, 2020 and March 31, 2022. These items will all be due back by April 21, 2022. Any item not returned by that date will start to incur overdue fines.

Don’t forget, you can return your item(s) to any library in Pembrokeshire.

If anyone cannot get their books back to the library by this date, or if you need further information about the titles on your account, please contact your local library.

Reservation charges will also be re-instated at £1.30 for Adults and 90p for concessions, up to a maximum of five reservations per person. Spoken word hire charges will be £2 for adults, £1.35 for concessions and no charge to children under 18 years of age or those registered disabled.
