Sir,

I am writing in reference to the 'Anti social behaviour' which was reported in your last issue, The heinous crime of skateboarding!

I understand the safety issues of children and teenagers skateboarding in car parks. I also understand that they may cause a nuisance to the public, but have the councils of Tenby and Saundersfoot and the local police considered that if the skateboarders had an allocated area to skate in they would be safe and not cause a nuisance

Ideas have been put forward for skate parks in the past and they have always been vetoed. Why? They would not be expensive to build or difficult to maintain. I have seen many similar parks in other areas and they have been very successful.

It is time that Tenby moved with times and created facilities for the benefit of our youth, not just the tourists.
