It certainly was ‘Emma’s day’

For a prominent member of Llysyfran Young Farmers Club, last Saturday will certainly be remembered as Emma's day! This was the day that Emma James was announced as this year's County YFC Rally Queen for the annual event to be held at the Pembrokeshire Showground on Saturday, May 26. But, as an added 'bonus', she was awarded the County YFC Stockman of the Year, 2007 Trophy and also the Federation's Young Farmer of the Year, 2007. Naturally Emma (pictured), of Ty Coch, Llandissilio, Clynderwen, was thrilled to bits especially since she, as a truly dedicated YFC member, has, over several years achieved numerous other successes and was last month named best actress in the all- Wales YFC Welsh language drama competition held at Theatr y Cromlech, Crymych. Attendants to the Rally Queen are Non Thorne, Tiers Cross club; Kate Richards, Clynderwen; Rhian Thomas, Llysyfran; and Jessica Griffiths, Keyston. The Junior Stockperson of the Year, 2007 is Melanie Ferrier, South Pembrokeshire, and the Junior Member of the Year, 2007 is Katey Davies, Llysyfran. These winners were announced during a dance held at the De Valence Pavilion, Tenby, which followed the highly successful County YFC Field Day which took place at Hendrewen Farm, Manorowen, near Fishguard.
