Sir, We had the pleasure of a visit from our family over the May Day Bank Holiday weekend. On Saturday, April 30, I drove my daughter and son-in-law into Tenby for them to enjoy an evening meal together. Unfortunately, they were unable to get a table at their chosen venue or, indeed, at any alternative place. Therefore, they decided to return immediately by taxi i.e. 7.15 p.m. and were horrified to be charged a mind-boggling £9 for a two-mile journey. I am prompted to write to reflect their anger and disbelief that visitors are being exploited in this way. It would appear that an inflated charge is made for the entire Bank Holiday weekend, although the Saturday and Sunday are, in fact, the same as any other weekend in the year which sees a 'normal' charge levied. The obvious inference is that advantage is being taken of visitors who, not unnaturally, feel very aggrieved and very, very irritated.
