He completed his first Ironman in an incredible 10 hours 51 minutes.
Thirty-eight-year-old Daryl, told the Observer: "It feels great to be an Ironman! It was an amazing feeling to cross the line.
"I work in Pembroke School, so had pupils and staff from Angle, Pembroke and Lamphey cheering me on. I had a brilliant reception in Carew, where I used to play football. My home village of Saundersfoot was bouncing and Tenby was fantastic. It was full of family and friends cheering me on. It was truly a special feeling!
"Daughters Hannah, Grace and Dulcie like most of the supporters were up at 5 am! What an effort! Like the other Ironmen, I felt humbled and honoured to be local. It was great!"
