One of the furthest travelled Ironman Wales competitors is 37-year-old Peter Berry.
He grew up near Nottingham and moved to Australia eight years ago for a change of scenery and ended up staying!
“I got into triathlon four years ago when I moved to Perth,” said Peter, who will be running for his adopted country on Sunday.
“I’ve done three Ironmans in Australia, so wanted to do one back home. I chose Wales because it is a hilly course so will be a new challenge compared to my previous races. Plus it looks like a beautiful course and Tenby is a nice place - I went there on holiday once when I was a child. I’m not particularly fast, so on Sunday I just want to finish, enjoy the day and take in the great atmosphere and support I’ve heard so much about.”
