A large gathering of otarians and friends gathered at the Plas Hyfryd Hotel, Narberth, recently, to hear a presentation from one of the world's greatest sporting experts when the Ospreys elite performance director, Andrew Hore, gave a fascinating account of the ups and downs of the modern professional game.
Andrew was the Welsh Rugby Union's 'fitness guru' between 2002 and 2005, a period which culminated in Wales winning the RBS Six Nations title and securing their first Grand Slam since 1978. He returned to his native New Zealand to take up the post of player development manager with the All Blacks, before resuming the Welsh connection in his present role with the Ospreys in 2007.
The evening was arranged by Ospreys supporter Rotarian Ieuan Griffiths, of the Rotary Club of Narberth and Whitland, who is a personal friend of Andrew.
The Rotarians were joined by their wives and supporters from both Narberth and Whitland Rugby Clubs.
After the talk, Andrew engaged in a lively question and answer session from former players and followers of the game.
The vote of thanks was given by Rotarian Patrick Jones.
