The interim chief executive of Hywel Dda NHS Trust is to be Mr. Martin Turner, chief executive of Gwent NHS Trust. Mr. Turner will lead the initial restructuring process of the new Trust and apply his considerable knowledge in amalgamating healthcare organisations. This follows his leadership in reconfiguring three former trusts into Gwent Healthcare NHS Trust in 1999. His experience will be crucial in this major initiative by the NHS in Wales. Said Mr. Martin Turner: "I am looking forward to the considerable challenge of creating a new Trust in West Wales." Interim chairman, Mrs. Lynette George, welcomed the appointment, saying: "Martin has a wealth of practical experience and expertise in Trust reconfiguration processes which will be extremely valuable in the months ahead. I am confident that everyone will welcome Mr. Turner and give him their support during the initial restructuring phases of the new Hywel Dda NHS Trust."
