Runner's World magazine has just listed Tenby's around-the-world traveller Rosie Swale-Pope in their '2009 Heroes of Running Awards'.
Rosie has been named the winner of the Jane Tomlinson Award for Inspiration in the magazine's latest issue which went on sale yesterday (Thursday).
The loss of her husband to prostrate cancer in 2002 sparked Rosie, in October of the following year, to set off on an epic adventure, with the goal to run around the northern hemisphere taking in as much land as possible.
She covered over 20,000 miles and wore out 46 pairs of shoes, arriving back in Tenby on August 25 of last year - four years and 328 days after setting off.
The magazine writes that Rosie has shown what can be achieved with a big dream, a warm heart and a pair of running shoes.
