On Monday, president Anne welcomed members to the last meeting of the Inner Wheel year. This was followed by the annual general meeting. The president reported on the successful charity evening at the Leisure Centre in May. The club's thanks go to all those who gave their time to provide entertainment. Thanks, too, to Bourne Leisure, Londis, and Mr. and Mrs. Watts who donated raffle prizes. It was agreed to donate £300 to Wales Air Ambulance and £200 to RNLI, the two charities to benefit from this event. President Anne also reported on the recent club outing, when members visited the Cancer Research Wales Laboratories at Velindre Hospital, an unforgettable experience. Lunch followed at Crickhowell and there was time for a quick look around Brecon before returning home. The club will be baking Welsh cakes over the summer. It was agreed that four sessions was the maximum, including New Hedges Village Hall fund- raiser, and the Rotary Medieval Fayre at Manorbier. Volunteers for invigilating at the Flower Festival on Friday, July 8, are Jean and Sue, 4 - 5, and Boo and Anne, 5 - 6. Congratulations were extended to Joan Osborne on the birth of her new grandson.

President Anne opened the annual general meeting by thanking her club officers and the executive committee for their support, the competent understudies who had stood in for officers for their willingness to help, and the club members for doing her the honour of electing her as president. She felt that all three objects of Inner Wheel had been satisfied during the year. Reports were received from the club officers. Secretary Margaret Peake thanked Carwen Harry for doing the first six months of her year. The treasurer's report was presented by Liz Storey on behalf of Mary Fleming. The draft accounts for 2004/5 were presented and discussed. It was agreed to donate a further £200 to Cancer Research Wales, bringing the total donation to £1,000. Overseas chairman Marnie Owen reported on an excellent year of fund-raising and making blankets, vests and teddies. Christmas boxes, collected by Betty Charnock, totalled a record 595. Welfare chairman Betty Ramsay reported that the club continued to visit care homes and the Cottage Hospital with gifts at Christmas, provide teas for the Visually Impaired Club and remember members' special birthdays and anniversaries. The club correspondent thanked the Tenby Observer for their continued help in publishing reports in the paper, and programme secretary Meryl Sharp reviewed a very busy year of speakers, fund-raising and social evenings. Retiring president Anne said she had now come to the end of her journey. The ride had at times, been a little bumpy, but always enjoyable, thanks to the friendship that exists in Inner Wheel. She then extended a warm welcome to vice-president Margaret Jones, and wished her success in the year ahead, before installing her as president for 2005 -6. New president Margaret thanked IPP Anne for her welcome, and on behalf of the club, thanked her for all her hard work in the past year. President Margaret said the theme for her year was the F- word, Friendship, Fund-raising and Fun. Her chosen charity is the local branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, and charities researching MS. It was suggested that the club's July outing be 'Jazz on the Gwili Railway' on July 16. Members not present, please contact Sue as soon as possible if they wish to go. June Hodder is walking in a 'Race for Life' for Cancer Research UK. This is on the Millennium Coast Path at Llanelli. The club agreed to sponsor her for £20. The raffle was won by Pat Matthews and the raffle for the blanket, made by Jennie Cole, raised £19 for overseas charities, and was won by IPP Anne Kelly. The handover dinner is on June 27 at Swallow Tree Gardens, 7.30 for 8 pm. Members not present, please contact Sue or the president for the menu.
