On June 29, 15 members and friends travelled to Cardiff for the Ty Hafan Open Day. A tour around the hospice had been arranged, which proved to be a very moving experience. Having supported Ty Hafan as one of their main charities during president Meryl's year, it was good to see, at first- hand, the wonderful work being carried out there. The visit was followed by lunch at the Park Plaza and the whole day enjoyed by all.

The following evening found members and friends at a well attended gathering at Lydstep Haven Social Club to launch Marlene Green's cookery book - 'Friends for Dinner'. The club is hoping to sell a large number of these during the year, at £5 each, in aid of Cancer Research Wales.

On Monday evening, July 14, members enjoyed a walk around the town with John Beynon, of Tenby Museum. It surprised everyone that there was still so much to learn about thir own local history. It was a very interesting and informative evening which was followed by a meal at the Buccaneer.

President Joyce is now settling into her 'year' and will be attending the District Assembly meetings in Swansea, together with her new officers.

Inner Wheel will once again be baking Welsh cakes at the Rotary Medieval Fayre. This will be held at Manorbier Castle on the evening of Wednesday, August 13. Members are asked to make 2 or 3 lb of dough and give to Joyce or Meryl if unable to be at the castle.

Toni is planning to raise funds for the club by organising two car boot sales, on Thursday, July 31 and August 7. She would welcome all donations of useful items for sale and offers of help would be much appreciated.

A programme for the coming year is being planned by Margaret Peake and Jan Griffiths. The first meeting is on Monday, September 8.

This will be a supper meeting at the Fourcroft, when District chairman Menna will be welcomed. All members are asked to arrive at 6 pm for a group photograph.
