The raging storm on Monday evening did not deter the many members who attended the meeting of the Inner Wheel Club of Narberth and Whitland at the Plas Hyfryd Hotel, Narberth. President Helen John thanked everyone for coming on such a night. Birthday good wishes were given to Josie Wills, Mary Bibby and Pat Coates. Apologies were received from five members. Secretary Jan Haddleton read the minutes of the February meeting and ploughed through much mail, mostly with invitations to attend events from clubs in the District and some changes to the Conference arrangements. Club delegates would meet the District 15 coach at Whitland. Ten members had attended the Fish and Chip Supper at Saundersfoot. A letter of thanks had been received for the members who served the teas at the Blood Sessions in Narberth and the Meals on Wheels service in both areas. President Helen and members enjoyed the well attended Afternoon Tea at the Whitland Day Centre, where homemade pancakes and Welsh cakes were served and entertainment was enjoyed with music, song and humour from Rotarian Neil Jackson. Sylvia James was pleased to reported that she had received an amazing amount of knitted items for Overseas Service from the Whitland ladies, eight blankets, 67 hats, four scarves, three babies cardigans and some knitted leggings. Several club members still maintain contact and visit founder members who, through poor health, are unable to attend. The Sunday lunch will be at Whitland Town Hall on March 25 at 12.30 pm for 1 pm, and a warm welcome to all.
