A very successful and enjoyable evening was had by members and friends who supported the charity supper on Wednesday, February 7, at the Pam Pam. The proceeds from this event, which raised £360, will be donated to Tenby Gateway Club. Grateful thanks were extended to Matt and Ruth Goldwait and their staff for their help on the night.
Sixteen members attended a business meeting at the Fourcroft on Monday, February 12. Vice-president Mary Morgan was in the chair in the absence of president Betty Ramsay. Vice-president Mary welcomed everyone and especially those who had been ill.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and signed. Volunteers were needed to serve teas at the Visually Impaired Club. The Rotary Club of Tenby had written a letter of thanks to members who had provided refreshments at the recent Young Musicians competition. A thank you letter was also received from the Gateway Club thanking Inner Wheel for the donation and crisps they had received at Christmas.
Several members will take part in the Ladies Circle quiz. A donation was to be sent to the association president's charity, Breast Cancer. Overseas chairman Jenny Cole reported that she had sent used stamps to Leprosy Mission and proposed a donation to the Indian Earthquake appeal.
Members were reminded that the next meeting, to be held on Monday, February 26, will be a 'Bring and Buy', and Mr. and Mrs. Parkinson will give a talk on Operation Christmas Child. An invitation had been sent to Tenby Soroptimists to attend this event.
A date for the diary: Wednesday, March 28 - annual fork lunch at the De Valence. Tickets £6 to include tea and coffee. Proceeds to Paul Sartori Lymphoedima Support Service, and local charities.
The raffle, given by Toni Lucas, was won by Gwyneth Brenchley.
