Pembrokeshire National Park's development management committee have finally approved an application on land adjacent to The Incline, Saundersfoot, to reduce the visibilty splay requirements to 2.4 metres at the entrance of a residential development site. The decision comes after NP members made a recent site visit to The Incline, with officers also seeking further opinion from an independent road traffic engineer, who stated that "refusal of the application would be difficult to recommend." NP member appointed by the National Assembly for Wales, Mr. Elwyn Owen, summed up the thoughts of his colleagues, after the recent site meeting: "We were right to take our time on this decision as a committee, and right to convey the concerns of the many local residents who have objected to this controversial application all along. It is our duty now to see that the conditions that the independent assessor advised, are put in place to make this dangerous stretch as safe as possible." Conditions advised to be introduced include traffic calming measures, a crossing at the new estate road, and possible relocation of the bus-stop.
