Sir,

We have been coming to Tenby (as a family of four) for several years, and for the first time I'm writing a letter to a newspaper in praise of a beautiful place, full of friendly and helpful people.

Our biggest pleasure this year has been having a picnic lunch in the garden above the Castle Sands.

The benches are comfy, the flowers are beautiful and the views of the 'Jubilee Flag' of flowers and St. Catherine's Island standing proudly in the sea are breathtaking.

But the 'tourist attraction' of the 'fatballs tree' has almost moved us to tears, being members of the RSPB and BTO. Bluetits, chaffinches, great-tits, sparrows, greenfinches, a wonderful array of happy little birds who need our help foodwise more than ever after the poor summer.

We have been amazed by the huge number of people who are constantly taking photographs, a treat to be able to film so many birds in 'close-up' - as we have done lots of times!

The tree is a wonderful talking point for so many people, and a novel and unusual 'tourist attraction'.

Tenby, you are unique!

The Johnson family.
