Santa and his helpers came to St. Michael's Square, Pembroke, last Friday evening, where he was welcomed by a very large crowd of excited youngsters.
The switch was flicked by Santa with help from the Mayor of Pembroke, Clr. Gareth Jones, and the Rev. Roger Jones.
Following the switch-on, carols were sung around the Christmas tree, with music provided by Pembroke Silver Band.
Clr. Keith Nicholas said: "I'm delighted that so many people turned out and enjoyed themselves. These events are vital as they demonstrate the council's commitment to the local community."
Before returning to Lapland, a very tired Santa commented that he was very busy getting ready for the big day and that he had really enjoyed visiting Pembroke again.
