Refurbishment work at Harriet’s House on Tenby Harbour is now well underway. Part of the project has been to redesign the kitchen and The Harriet Davis Trust consulted Howdens Joinery at Neyland for advice about the refit.

After the kitchen was supplied to the charity, Howdens manager Peter Williams and his staff decided to donate £500 to the trust towards the refurbishment project.

The Neyland Depot donation was then match-funded by Simon Hudson, the area manager for Howdens South Wales, bringing the total amount to £1,000.

Elizabeth Sleight, development manager for the trust, said: “We approached Howdens for help as we knew they already had links with disability charities through their association with Leonard Cheshire Homes. The staff have all been very helpful and the added bonus of these generous donations is both unexpected and fantastic.”

Neyland depot manager, Peter Williams, said: “We really like to support local causes where we can and the Harriet Davis Trust is such a worthwhile charity. We were really pleased to help.”

The Harriet Davis Trust has four holiday houses in Pembrokeshire which are specially adapted for disabled children and their families. It has been running a successful fundraising campaign over the last year to upgrade Harriet’s House and its other properties in readiness for the holiday season.
