Few Christmas cards on sale in Tenby tell the real story of Christmas - but there are still many to buy inside St. Mary’s Church.
There are also plenty of Welsh and English cards and some in both languages.
The cards, supplied by Christian Aid, have mostly religious themes. There are also some non-nativity cards, but all are artistic and tasteful.
Hundreds of cards are for sale by the font area inside the church.
Christian Aid hopes to break the record of £1,000 in takings, set a few years ago now.
All proceeds will go to starving families around the world. Everybody is included, not just Christians.
Malcolm Stacey, Christian Aid’s local secretary , said: ‘ It’s very disappointing for some people that we get plenty of snowmen and teddy bears wearing Santa hats on cards. But not nearly enough reflecting the true story of Christmas.
‘Not only do you get a stunning selection of religiously-themed cards at St. Mary’s’, but you also have the warm feeling of helping desperate families have a better Christmas.
‘Our cards give relatives and friends a reminder of what Christmas is really about. And it’s not just cuddly animals and bottles of booze’.
Most popular theme for religious Christmas cards, according to Christian Aid, are the stable scene, the three wise men, angels and pictures of churches in the snow.
But the colourful display in St Mary’s has many other themes, including classical paintings and cards aimed at children.
And if you don’t see a card you like, you are invited to leave a donation in the box anyway.
