A NATIVE of Tenby has been singing the resort's floral praises in the letters column of a popular gardening magazine.

Readers of Amateur Gardening are invited to discuss all things gardening and Rev. Margaret Munford (nee Hand), once of Tenby and now living in Cumbria, wrote to tell the magazine on how daffodils say 'welcome' to her.

"Having left my family home in Tenby, to pursue a career many years ago, now when I return in spring and reach the inner 30 mile-an-hour limit signs, there's a host of lovely Tenby daffodils in bloom to greet me," wrote Mrs. Munford, in her published letter, explaining that the bulbs were planted years ago to celebrate a special anniversary when Tenby was granted a Royal Charter.

"Over the years I eventually moved again to be near grandchildren in Grangeover Sands in Cumbria and again on the approach there's a host of Tenby daffodils. So to me they say both welcome to my old home in Wales and my new one in Cumbria," continued Mrs. Munford in the magazine, which was brought to our attention by her sister Sheila John, of Tenby.
