The Clarence House, one of Tenby's best-known hotels, has given the Wales Air Ambulance charity a substantial boost.

Heather Philbin, hotel receptionist, presented the charity with a sum of £1,383 last Thursday evening.

Over the past year, Heather has raised the money by holding raffles during the evenings for the many holidaymakers staying at the hotel.

During the presentation evening, guests also purchased a further £99 of air ambulance merchandise.

The charity presented Heather with a bouquet of flowers in recognition of enthusiasm and hard-work she has put in to making the raffles such a success.

The proprietors, Mr. and Mrs. Phillips, were also specifically thanked for allowing the raffles to take place.

Mike Ashbridge from Air Ambulance commented: "This is a tremendous donation to Wales Air Ambulance and we would like to thank Heather and all the generous guests at the Clarence House Hotel for their support.

"The air ambulance charity is just eight-years-old and donations of this scale make a massive difference to our work and really do keep the helicopters flying!"
