A meeting between the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority and Pembrokeshire County Council officers with the developers of the Royal Gatehouse site, has seen progress on attempts to re-open the pavement alongside the former hotel.
The county council's head of street care, Mr. Marc Owen, stated that it was the primary focus to get the pavement reopened as soon as possible, clerk Mr. Andrew Davies explained to members of Tenby Town Council on last week.
The proposal was made that the pathway should be opened up along the route as far as the Glow tanning business, with a crossing point put in to cross by The Norton.
"It was made clear to the owner of the site that either steps were taken to re-open the pavement or it would be taken out of their hands and done under the appropriate act," said Clr. Mike Evans, who added that the authority were determined to open the footpath ahead of the summer season.
