A member of Pembrokeshire Community Health Council will be an additional 'patient's voice' as Tenby's new health facilities take shape.
During a recent meeting of the CHC, Pembrokeshire county councillor Jim Codd was nominated to serve on the implementation group, which will channel the involvement of local people in the resort's £4 million replacement cottage hospital.
At the meeting, members heard that the new facility would provide a range of modern services on one site, together with 10 beds in a local nursing home.
Health minister, Jane Hutt has given an assurance that the beds will be additional to the current bedstock in nursing homes and supervised by the NHS on a daily basis.
