A successful festive busking session enabled the Tenby Woodwind Quartet to raise enough money to buy an original watercolour painting of Tenby for the Chemotherapy Day Unit at Withybush Hospital.
The quartet performed Christmas and classical music in the foyer of Morrison's, Haverfordwest, and thanks to the generosity of the public, and the help of Art Matters, Tenby, were able to purchase the painting for the unit on Ward 10.
The Tenby Woodwind Quartet, which will be contesting the Young Ensemble of Dyfed competition in March, is composed of Greenhill School pupils Sam Davies (flute), Litona Harries (bassoon) and Natasha van der Pas (oboe), with former Greenhill student Lee Mottram on clarinet.
As well as its open-air performances enjoyed by Christmas shoppers in Tenby, Haverfordwest and Carmarthen, the quartet has recently entertained at functions at Dale Castle, the De Valence Pavilion and Carmarthen Museum.
