The gates to one of Tenby's landmark properties, Lexden Terrace, have been reinstated by its residents with the help of a grant from the Tenby Town Scheme Partnership Initiative. The team working on the project comprised architect Murray John, conservation builders the Lime Company of West Wales Ltd., and wrought iron specialists Paul Dennis Associates. Rob Scourfield, building conservation officer, Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority commented: "The pair of gates had been lost and the pillars were frequently being damaged by goods vehicles reversing into them. "An old photograph in the Tenby Museum and detective work on site enabled Murray John to replicate the original design." Cliff Blundell from the Lime Company of West Wales, remarked: "Tenby has an important architectural legacy to protect. The town's architecture is one of its major attractions. Many of the skills required to maintain these buildings correctly were lost after the Second World War, but conservation workers are now reviving them."
