Services are held every Sunday at 4.15 pm in Carringtons Restaurant, below the Atlantic Hotel on Tenby's Esplanade. Last week, the Pastor, Rev. Peter Richmond, told the story of the lions who had to wait for their dinner! Daniel refused to obey king Darius's edict that forbade prayer to anyone other than the king; he always prayed publicly to the God of Israel, so he continued to do so. He seemed to fall right into the trap that his corrupt peers had set for him - and straight into the lions' den. Did God whisper to the lions and tell them to be friendly? They were probably pacing the cold hard floor greedily gazing at Daniel all night long - but they were not able to take a single bite. Darius had been tricked himself, and was anxious for Daniel, but when he was found to be all right, it raised the suspicion that Darius had fed the lions already. The lions' hunger was confirmed shortly afterwards as those who plotted against Daniel (and probably the whole Jewish race with him) were thrown to the lions. "Would this still be a good story if the lions had eaten Daniel?" asked Peter. "Yes. Because even if the Lions had eaten Daniel for supper, Daniel would still have been the winner. "God did not deliver Abel from Cain. God did not deliver John the Baptist, neither Stephen, nor even Jesus Himself. But they were all winners. "Those who place God first and honour Him above all other things may suffer and die, they may go bankrupt or suffer divorce, but they are the winners, if the God of the universe is their God. God's servants are immortal until their work is done." To find out more, visit http://www.hesedcf.co.uk">www.hesedcf.co.uk
