A public meeting to discuss how people can best look after and enjoy the Freshwater East Local Nature Reserve will be held on Monday, June 9. The meeting has been organised by the Freshwater East Society and Community Association, PLANED and the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority. Senior park ranger Libby Taylor said: "The Freshwater East Local Nature Reserve was designated last year to enable local people and visitors now and in the future to learn about and enjoy the wonderfully varied natural habitats of The Burrows, woodlands and marsh. "This is such a valued community facility so we really want members of the community to be calling the shots in terms of how we can all help manage the reserve. We will need to agree and establish a management structure as well as a management plan. "We will be asking what people think about the reserve as it is now; what other features they would like to see and how we should manage those features in future." Anyone is welcome to attend the public meeting at The Longhouse, Trewent Park, Freshwater East, at 6.30 pm. If you can't make it there is a drop-in session from 10 am to noon on Tuesday, June 10, at the same venue. For more information contact the National Park rangers' south team on 0845 345 7275.
