Heatherton Indoor Bowls Club chalked up a 20-shot win and bagged 18 points at home against Bro Myrddin in their first WIBA West Division club championship game on Saturday.
Paul Diment's rink led the charge, winning the kitty with a 26-13 victory, while John Roberts's foursome were 23-17 victors and John Baggott and Co went down by six.
This resulted in a 13-shot head-start for the three afternoon rinks.
In the second session, there were wins for the rinks skipped by Steve Reese and Alan Whitehouse, 10 and six shots respectively, while Colin Wynn's combination finished nine adrift.
This match was a good start to the season for the St. Florence club side and the selectors are hoping to build on this success when they play Earlswood, Swansea, tomorrow (Saturday).
