HEATHERTON 110 (5 pts) DINEFWR 157 (17)

High-riding Heatherton travelled to Ammanford to play Dinefwr in a top-of-the-table clash on Saturday. Before the match, both teams were unbeaten in the west division of the Club Championship, so something surely had to give. At the end of an enthralling encounter, it was the St. Florence team who finally surrendered their 100 per cent record as they went down by 47 shots, slipping to second place in the table as a result. On the day, Dinefwr, who have dropped down from the Welsh Premier League this season, proved just too strong for their opponents and their consistency throughout reaped dividends as they won on three rinks, lost two and drew one. In the process, they bagged 17 league points to Heatherton's five, to open up a clear gap at the head of the division. The Heatherton bowlers were naturally disappointed with the outcome, but with a home game against struggling Carmarthen tomorrow (Saturday), they will surely bounce back to their winning ways. Rink scores (Heatherton first, Dinefwr skips only) were: T. Lampkin, S. Dick, M. Evans, T. Howells 13; D. Price 36. J. Dixon, P. Wynn, C. Wynn, C. Court 22; M. Rees 22. R. O'Leary, T. Lewis, G. Thomas, C. Jones 13; G. Thomas 31. C. Davies, T. Harries, J. Moffat, S. Reese 22; N. Bithray 19. C. Bromham, A. Jarvis, A. Whitehouse, J. Baggott 19; R. Griffiths 31. H. Evans, B. Jones, M. Jackson, J. Roberts 21; A. Price 18.
