National Theatre Wales have given a ‘heartfelt’ thanks to the community of Tenby after their production ‘Tide Whisperer’ was enthusiastically received recently by the town’s people/.
‘Tide Whisperer’ written by poet and playwright Louise Wallwein MBE, took audiences from the De Valence Pavillion, through the cobbled streets of Tenby and on to the beach, to tell a series of stories based around the theme of refugees and migration.
The production formed part of Welsh Government’s ‘Year of the Sea’ - a campaign created by Visit Wales to celebrate Wales’ outstanding coastline which invites you to discover epic experiences all around the Welsh shores.
Kully Thiarai, director of Tide Whisperer and artistic director of National Theatre Wales said: “I’d like to say a huge heartfelt thank you to the people of Tenby for the generous welcome that National Theatre Wales has received.
“The warmth and support we’ve had from the local people has blown us away. It’s been a huge pleasure working with the local community, from those who performed in the show, to those who helped make the show happen.
“Not only does Tenby have the beauty of an incredible backdrop but the beauty of the generosity from its people. We loved bringing Tide Whisperer to life in Tenby.”
