Sir,
On Sunday, August 10, while on holiday with my family, we were involved in a road accident on The Ridgeway, Saundersfoot.
Our vehicle, a maroon Renault Espace, was in collision with an oncoming motorcycle and the damage was such that we were unable to move the car until the AA had carried out some extensive, temporary repairs.
Travelling with myself and my husband were my elderly parents and our son, who were all considerably distressed by the collision. However, the ordeal was tempered by the kindness and generosity of the local residents.
I would, through your Letters page, particularly like to offer my heartfelt gratitude to the ladies who were prepared to take my parents into their homes, offer refreshment and to take us all back to our accommodation in Narberth. I would also like to especially mention the elderly gentleman who, at the end of a very long afternoon and noticing that we were still unable to move our vehicle, invited us all in for tea.
This was our first visit to Pembrokeshire, but it will certainly not be our last and we will always remember the kindness shown to us that day.
Mrs. Susan Sayle,
6 Hebden Avenue,
Bredbury,
Stockport.
