Tenby Museum’s crowdfunding project, “Hear to See”, to record descriptions for the visually impaired is going really well and with just a week to go Kathy Talbot, Trustee, says the initial target of £500 has already been exceeded. So much so that curator Mark Lewis has started work on writing and recording the audio descriptions of objects in the Museum.

The latest one is of the penny farthing which belonged to George Ace, a well known character from Tenby. It can be listened to by following the link on the Museum’s Facebook page or by logging into avivacommunityfund.co.uk/Hear-to-see, where you can also make a pledge to take the money even higher.

The RNIB have praised the quality of the recordings and will be hoping to use them on their radio station. All money pledged will go towards other projects for the visually impaired, such as large print guides in the museum and resin models, of otherwise precious and delicate items, that can be handled.

The more money raised, the more can be achieved, both online and in the museum.”
