Cartref Cleddau in Pembroke Dock is celebrating after its Service Manager, Sarah Lees, was named Care Registered Nurse of the Year at the prestigious National Care Awards.

Sarah received the national honour in recognition of her exceptional dedication, compassion, and outstanding contribution to the care sector. Her leadership and commitment have made a profound impact on her team and the individuals supported at Cartref Cleddau.

Speaking about the award, Geraint Evans, Operations Director, said: “We couldn’t be prouder of Sarah. This award reflects her professionalism, kindness, and tireless dedication to delivering the very best care. Sarah leads by example every single day, and this recognition is thoroughly deserved.”

The National Care Awards, organised annually by Caring Times, celebrate excellence across the UK’s care sector, recognising individuals and teams who go above and beyond to make a difference in people’s lives. This year the ceremony was held at the Park Plaza, Westminster and hosted by presenter and TV personality, Sue Perkins.

Sarah was recognised as a Queen’s Nurse and will be returning to London later this month when she will officially receive her award.

Forty-seven-year-old Sarah was also recently recognised at this year’s Wales Care Awards, which are held every year to pay tribute to the frontline heroes of social care.

Sarah, who is described by colleagues as “a champion in social care who transforms the lives of those around her” was handed a silver award in the Independent Sector Nurse of the Year category at a glittering ceremony held at Cardiff’s Holland House Hotel.

Cartref Cleddau and its team are immensely proud of Sarah’s achievement and grateful for her continued passion and commitment to providing high-quality, person-centred care in Pembroke Dock.
