The next meeting of the South East Pembrokeshire Community Health Network has been arranged for Tuesday, October 22 at 2pm at New Hedges Village Hall, where important local health issues are to be discussed as well as the future of the group, so please make every effort to attend.
The main speaker will be Elaine Lorton, Hywel Dda University Health Board, County Director for Pembrokeshire, supported by other Health Board personnel. There are many key issues.
One such issue is the integration of health and social care provision in our area. It is clear that there is an increasing need for the two services to be more closely aligned, especially to support discharge from hospital and the support then required by patients at home. Many members of the community will have experienced this situation so come along to hear of developments and plans.
The Tenby Cottage Hospital’s ‘Walk-In Service’ is continuing its strong and effective support for our community. It is a service that the SEPCHN strongly advocated. There are issues which need to be discussed such as financing and summer opening hours and the Network is keen to hear of the Health Board evaluation of this year’s performance.
The Tenby GP Surgery is under new management arrangements and the Network is keen to hear of any developments and plans and possible information regarding the appointment of new GP’s.
There is then the future of our Network. What are members views on its future? We need to be aware of these opinions, so please come along to express your views. All are welcome.
