A successful fundraiser was held recently at Kilgetty Community Centre in support of local charity Withybush Hospital Cancer Day Unit Appeal.

The event, organised by hard working Raydene Waters, her daughter Pauline Davies and daughter-in-law Louise Waters, resulted in a great turnout with more than seventy people lending their support throughout the morning.

In advance of the event, Raydene and Pauline canvassed relatives, friends and local businesses for their support which resulted in a major raffle offering over 40 quality prizes.

Margaret Bond, chairperson of the charity attended to offer her support and gave those present an update on the activities of the charity.

Margaret commented:

“We never cease to be amazed at Raydene and Pauline’s commitment and enthusiasm for fundraising. They have already raised over £10,000 through community events in support of our charity.”

The event generated a further £1,300 in just two hours, which Margaret described as “an amazing result.” She added: “We are so grateful to everyone who attended on the day, the individuals and local businesses who provided such generous raffle prizes and not forgetting the band of willing helpers for their hard work”
