Hywel Dda Health Charities, the official charity of Hywel Dda University Health Board, has funded a bench for use in South Pembrokeshire Hospital.
The bench has been installed in the communal garden of the hospital for the benefit of patients, staff and visitors.
“Patients can leave the ward with their visitors and spend time connecting in an open space. Similarly, staff can sit together outside or take a moment for themselves for some reflection or mindfulness which will contribute to staff morale and wellbeing.”
Nicola Llewelyn, Head of Hywel Dda Health Charities, the official charity of Hywel Dda University Health Board, said: “This is a great example of how your local NHS charity funds projects and items that make a real difference, such as welcoming environments for patients, visitors, and staff.
“The support of our local communities enables us to provide services over and above what the NHS can provide in the three counties of Hywel Dda and we are extremely grateful for every donation we receive.”
Hywel Dda Health Charities supports your local NHS to make a positive difference for patients, service users, families, carers and staff in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire.
The generous charitable donations that it receives from patients, their families and local communities don’t replace NHS funding. They are used to provide items and activities above and beyond core NHS expenditure such as:
- Extra patient comforts
- Most up-to-date medical equipment
- More welcoming surroundings for patients, families and staff
- Staff training, development and wellbeing initiatives
- Research into, and the development of, treatments
- Enhanced care in our local communities.
