Expectant mothers considering using real nappies for their babies can learn more at Withybush Antenatal Hospital on Friday, April 28, from Pembrokeshire County Council Real Nappy co-ordinator Vicky White.

Using real nappies not only reduces the amount of black bag waste produced it can also save parents approximately £500 from birth to potty (around two and a half years).

Pembrokeshire County Council offers an incentive scheme to parents in a bid to encourage their use.

“If you spend £50 or over you can claim £30 cash back or £60 if you spend over £150,” said Vicky.

“So there is clearly an economic and environmental incentive for their use.

“There is a health benefit too as the breathable fabrics promotes healthy skin and I’ll be on hand to show the range of fabrics and styles available.

“Modern day nappy systems are really simple and easy to use.”

The real nappy display will be on show between 9 am and 12.30 pm.
