Discussions to increase community dental service operating out of Tenby’s Cottage Hospital will be on the agenda of a public health meeting next week.

The next meeting of South East Pembrokeshire Community Health Network (SEPCHN) will be on December 7 at 5 pm in New Hedges Village Hall.

“We will be receiving details on what is happening with the hospital regarding RAAC and an update on planning of their community health services event,” Cllr. Duncan Whitehurst (secretary of SEPCHN) told his fellow councillors at this month’s meeting of Tenby Town Council.

“We are fortunate to have senior members of the Health Board in attendance and there will be a question and answer session along with a ‘what to do’ in relation to a number of pre-submitted scenarios.

“Dental healthcare will also be discussed. There is an aspiration to increase community dental service operating out of the Cottage Hospital as part of the ambitions to deliver more local services from there,” he added.
