Figures released by the National Assembly's Minister for Health and Social Services underline Welsh Labour's commitment to health services in Pembrokeshire, according to Labour AM, Alun Davies.
In a letter to the AM this week, Edwina Hart AM MBE outlined that £11.4million had been assigned to capital projects at Withybush Hospital, with a further £3.4million set aside for new theatres at the hospital site.
Alun Davies said: "Having recently visited Withybush Hospital with the Minister, I am very impressed at how much is being done to improve the setting in which patients receive care, but also the improvements being made for staff who work at the hospital.
"A massive amount of work is going into developing new services at Withybush, including the renal unit, which will provide many patients with local access to dialysis services. I know that business cases are being worked up to ensure that the theatres at Withybush are improved, delivering on Labour's promises of a world class health care across Wales and for the people of Pembrokeshire."
Edwina Hart has also confirmed the level of spending at other sites within the Hywel Dda NHS Trust. West Wales General Hospital has £17.4million of capital project funding approved with £7.2million for a new A&E department and £2.2 million for MRI scanning facilities.
