Holiday park company Haven - who have sites at Kiln Park by Tenby, Penally Court, and Lydstep Beach Holiday Village - have stated today (Thursday) that it is introducing a new holiday offering to provide those looking for a break on the British coast this year whilst maintaining ‘social distancing’ as early as July. ?

‘Haven Hideaway’ will be available at all Haven parks across the UK, providing guests with a ‘holiday home’ on the coast and facilities such as takeaway food options, supermarkets, launderettes and long stretches of beach - the company has stated.?

The press release states: ‘With Haven parks situated right on the doorstep of some of the best beaches in UK and with breath-taking scenery, families will be able to enjoy the simple pleasures of British beach holidays.’

It goes on to say: ‘From picnics to coastal walks, there will still be plenty for families to enjoy and appreciate this summer.’

Haven Holiday Parks announced on Monday that they had taken the decision to extend the closure of all their sites across the UK until July 2.

“We have thousands of guests who have already had breaks cancelled this year due to the Coronavirus pandemic,” said Gerard Tempest, Guest and Proposition Director.

“We look forward to reopening our parks as soon as Government advice allows and as soon it is safe to do so, and are busy making changes to the way we operate our parks to ensure we can comply with the latest requirements.

“With social distancing requirements likely to remain in place, we don’t expect to be able to provide the full Haven experience to the number of guests we would normally welcome.

“However we can still provide the chance for families to escape to the British coast and enjoy a breath of fresh air at the seaside on a ‘Haven Hideaway’ break.”?

‘Haven Hideaway’ breaks will be available from July and across the whole of the 2020 season. Guests who already have breaks booked during this period will not be affected at this stage.

“We still hope to offer these guests the facilities and activities they have booked and we will be contacting them at least four weeks ahead of their break to provide an update.

“All 2020 and 2021 bookings are automatically covered by our Coronavirus Book with Confidence Guarantee, so all guests are able to cancel their holiday from 28 days before up until three days prior to their arrival at no cost and receive a full refund,” continued Mr. Tempest.

New guests will be able to book ‘Haven Hideaway’ breaks from today (Thursday) via www.haven.com

“For guests who will be holidaying with us we will be making a range of changes to our check in process and limiting the number of guests staying on park at any time to ensure that we can protect our guests, owners and team as best as possible,” added Mr. Tempest.

In further correspondence sent out to on site caravan owners on Thursday (May 14), Haven said that they were focusing their attentions on being able to get owners back on their parks as soon as possible.

“Of course, this remains in the hands of the Prime Minister and we will keep you updated the second we know that it is approved that we can let our owners back on park,” they explained.

“Based on the latest UK government guidelines, it is yet to be made clear to the tourism and leisure industry when we will be able to reopen our indoor facilities, such as swimming pools, showbars, arcades and restaurants and bars.

“We also know that when we are given the go ahead to open these, it may be staggered, and it may also require various adjustments to capacity levels due to social distancing requirements.

“It is therefore important to recognise that access to these facilities is not included in our ‘Haven Hideaway’ experience.

“What we do know is that as soon as we are given permission to open to these facilities, and indeed open our owner exclusive areas, we will ensure you have priority access to all of these.
