There's magical mayhem brewing at Picton Castle for Wednesday, July 29, from 11 am.
Resident magician Merlin will do spellbinding jokes and ghastly potions in the courtyard, as well as turn balloons into critters.
Art witches Hazel and Gwynneth will use their magic paints to turn little faces into all sorts of magical creatures. Heidi's set to create fun and games; Hazel's got a magic mural for everyone to paint. Merlin's magi-rific shows in the theatre will keep kids entranced and the Potty Puppet Show is a laugh a minute. And if magic castles aren't your bag, maybe a bouncy castle's more fun - Matthew will be there with one of his many inflatables.
If the weather's great, it's fun and games in the gardens; if it's cold or wet, there's plenty of space in the art galleries.
The hidden castle, just off the A40 on the road between Haverfordwest and Narberth, has lots of things to find and see. The free nature trail takes kids around the woods and gardens, with a mask to win and colour in. The olde maze gets everyone bemused. The adventure playground, close to the jungle garden, is a great place to let off steam.
Normal entry charges apply on family fun days. (Entry to garden and galleries: adults £4.95; seniors £4.75; juniors aged five-15 £2.50, under 5s free.) Some activities cost £1. Open from 10.30 am to 5 pm. 'Phone 01437 751326 for more information or visit http://www.pictoncastle.co.uk">www.pictoncastle.co.uk.
