The richness and bounty of God's harvest was joyously celebrated at the Benefice service at St. Mary's Church on Sunday last.
The congregation were not only delighted by the beautifully artistic and stunning floral arrangements, but also treated to a service full of splendid and uplifting music.
The music was provided throughout the service by the splendid church choir, with organ accompaniment, the orchestra, the magnificent trumpet voluntary, a special performance by the junior choir and culminated in the particularly touching singing of the children from Sunday Funday Club.
The children performed perfectly, both in song and verse, and were aided throughout by the presence of a real live egg-laying chicken!
The junior church members were, as always, encouraged and led by Nan and Heidi and the meaning and significance of the harvest was discussed with the children by team vicar, Robb Wainwright.
